First Sunday Drop-In Improv (Adult)

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned expert, you’ll have fun thinking on your feet, exercising your wits, and spinning tales in these fun-filled sessions. Come just once, come to all three ... no matter what fits your schedule, we guarantee a hilariously good time!
Essentials of Acting (7th-12th Grade)
with Kylie McElrath
Age: Grades 7-12
Dates: Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m., five weeks from September 16 to October 14.
Instructor: Kylie McElrath
Tuition: $100
During this five-week class, students will explore acting, vocal and movement techniques using scene work and monologues to land their next audition or bring their character to life. We’ll tackle the question every actor must ask themselves: “What’s my obstacle?” From there, we’ll explore the different ways to overcome it. From Stanislavski to Meisner, we will cover different teaching styles while building your acting tool repertoire. Both beginners and students with on-stage experience will benefit from this class.
Farmland Story Theater (1st-3rd Grade)

Age: Grades 1-3
Dates: Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. — five weeks, October 21 to November 18.

Learn the fundamentals of storytelling in our latest Story Theater class! In this five-week class, students will learn how to create stories using their voices and movement. We will explore characters, story structure, the Three B’s of acting, and much more. A great starting point for those just beginning in theater! Kids who have taken a previous story theater class at the Croswell are welcome to enroll again, and will still find new things to learn.
Improv Toolkit (4th-6th Grade)

Age: Grades 4-6
Dates: Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., five weeks from October 22 to November 19

Our popular Improv Toolkit for upper elementary students returns! Students will learn the fundamentals and basic tools of improvisational theater in a fast-paced, creative environment that encourages them to create stories and characters using a wide variety of improv techniques, formats and games. Students who have taken this class before are welcome to return and will still find new things to learn!
